PEMDAS...say what????

Check out these two videos that highlight order of operations in math. You have probably seen or heard of the acronym BEDMAS, this is the same concept. The difference is that we are calling the brackets by their true mathematical name... parentheses.

Therefore, from this day forth we will use PEMDAS in order to follow the correct order of operations. Check out the videos below.

Tonight's assignment, start remembering...

Tonight your task will be to read page one of the "Canada Remembers Times" (click on this link) and post a comment about how this makes you feel. Start to make a collection of the things you will remember, or that you will never forget as we continue towards Rememberance Day. In class we will be studying song lyrics and discussing the feelings of soldiers and their loved ones. We will be reading letters to soldiers, and letters sent from soldiers home.

We will take a closer look at the following videos in class as inspiration for letters we will be writing from different perspectives:

When we get back to class you will be writing a letter in your Response Journals to Terry Fox conveying your feelings about his Marathon of Hope, and the effect it had on ALL Canadians. The links below will provide you with some information on Terry Fox and his courageous journey. Make notes.
