How do we possibly pay tribute to those who have fallen in defense of the ideals, rights and freedoms we all hold so dear. Whether WWI,WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, or hundreds of peace keeping missions, Canadian soldiers have fallen in defense of our freedoms and the lives of strangers around the globe. We take time once a year to remember the brave and men and woman who have given, and are currently, risking their lives around the world. This is not enough. Everytime you here our national anthem you have a small opportunity to show your respect to those who have fought for you. NEVER FORGET.

Your task today is to visit the war art website of Veterans Affairs Canada, and write a poem, paragraph, diary entry, or letter home, inspired by the art you see. I am also including a link to the lyrics of three songs we wil listen to that are stories told from different perspectives of soldiers and their loved ones. These songs are all American but are quite powerful and relevant to all soldiers stationed in harms way and away from their famillies. You may use them as inspiration.
